I am in the business of buying, selling and repairing VCR's so NONE of my machines are one of those "I don't have any tapes to test it with", "Worked the last time I used it" or "Tested by plugging it in". Every machine I sell is either new or has just been fully reconditioned as outlined below in the Testing & Maintenance section. Also please keep in mind that if you are looking for a Beta VCR to transfer your old home movies to DVD and your tapes were made with a Super Beta recorder you will need a Super Beta machine to play them back properly. Super Beta machines will playback Regular and Super Beta formats so if in doubt about your tapes buy a Super Beta machine. Consumer Beta machines will NOT playback Betacam SP tapes. Old Beta tapes are very bad at clogging the video heads so I would also recommend a rewinder and a cleaning tape. You will need them.

To purchase a machine directly from me simply email me at the bottom of this page with the following information. # 1 Which machine do you want? (If there is more than one of a specific model look at the address in your browser after clicking on that machine and let me know what it says. # 2 How do you want to pay? I accept PayPal for use with a credit card or a US Postal Money Order. I have different PayPal accounts depending on how you want to Pay. If you want to use PayPal I will need to know how you want to pay ( Credit Card, Instant Transfer or PayPal Cash Balance ). I can then send you an invoice. I will need your PayPal email address for the invoice and your eBay name if you have one. PayPal buyers will be charged the 4.0% PayPal service fee to the total payment due. Between eBay raising their fees and PayPal adding more fees it is just taking away all of my profit. Machines up for eBay auctions have had the eBay and PayPal fees added to my reserve price. Other forms of payment accepted but you must check with me first. All other types of payment will be held for 10 business days before shipment. I will ship to the US and Canada only. Buyer pays a flat fee for shipping, handling and insurance to the lower 48 states. Shipping to the US is done through either UPS or USPS with NO extra charge for insurance. Shipping to P.O. Boxes or outside the lower 48 states is done through USPS at buyer’s added expense. I will not be liable for any damage caused by shipping. All my items carry insurance at least to the value of your winning bid. USPS will deal directly with the receiver if any shipping damage is done. Reimbursement is made only when/if the carrier covers the damage(s) and I file a claim (with UPS only) instead of the buyer. Other shipping options available at buyer's added expense. Orders are usually shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment. No local pickups. I do not offer combined shipping rates of multiple items shipped to the same address. I ship each unit in it's own box so that if one gets lost or damaged the other one is not.
I have been in the repair business for 32 years and all machines I sell have had the following testing and maintenance done to them where applicable: All heads, guides and lenses are cleaned. Pinch Rollers resurfaced or replaced as needed. Belts and Rubber Drive Tires are resurfaced or replaced as needed. The Reel Tables are removed to clean & adjust Brake Pads, Back tension bands and lube all moving parts. The Tape Alignment is checked against factory specifications. The machines are tested for Playback & Record of all supported speeds. The Front Panels are removed and all Controls, Switches and Lenses are cleaned and checked for functions. Any bent or misaligned cabinet parts are repaired to the best of my ability. The Tape Loading and Tape Threading mechanisms are checked for proper operation. The Remote Controls are cleaned and and all Buttons and Switches are checked for functions. However I can not guarantee to please everyone and their needs. Because of the cash involved in S&H there is just no way I can pay for that every time someone would put a bad tape in the VCR they just bought from me and the picture would go out. I have had tapes of my own that would mess up a VCR the minute I hit play. There are just too many things that can go wrong between when I check them out (they are rechecked just before packing) and when the customer hooks it up and puts in their old tape. In fact I sold one to a customer who said that the machine works flawlessly except when he tried to use an old tape. He admitted that the tape wouldn't work in his other two VCR's either but he wanted to try it anyway. All units are tested once again just before being packed up for shipment for Playback and Record only. I hope this answers most questions.
First know what you are buying. If you have questions ask before bidding. All items are sold AS-IS with no warranty. All return requests must be made within 3 days of the date tracking says the item was received. I will only accept returns for the following reason: Wrong item was shipped. Any other reasons for returns will be done on a repair only basis. There will be NO refund on any S&H charges. Please remember when you bid that this is not new and pristine electronic equipment. It is used/vintage equipment unless otherwise stated in the auction. It will probably have some small bumps, bruises, scratches, or blemishes we may have overlooked.
